Guangwei Composites helps RX4E Ruixiang four-seater electric aircraft obtain type certificate

Recently, the RX4E Ruixiang four-seater electric aircraft independently developed by the Liaoning General Aviation Research Institute of Shenyang Aerospace University successfully obtained the Type Certificate (TC) issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, becoming the first normal electric aircraft in China to obtain type approval. This marks a breakthrough in the field of new energy electric aircraft technology in China. Guangwei Composites undertook the task of supplying the main raw materials during the certification process of the aircraft.

According to Yang Fengtian, the head of the development team, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and chief scientist of Liaoning General Aviation Research Institute, the RX4E aircraft is his country's first pure electric normal-category aircraft developed in accordance with the CCAR-23 "Normal-category Aircraft Airworthiness Regulations". The aircraft has a wingspan of 13.5 meters, a length of 8.4 meters, and a maximum take-off weight of 1,260 kilograms; the total capacity of the power lithium battery is 70kWh, and the maximum power of the electric propulsion system is 140kW; the maximum endurance time can reach 1.5 hours; it has the remarkable characteristics of zero emissions, low noise, low operating costs, safety and reliability. Since the application for the type qualification was accepted by the Civil Aviation Administration on November 11, 2019, it has taken 5 years to complete all airworthiness verification work and obtain the type certificate.

In the future, the RX4E aircraft can be widely used in pilot training, sightseeing travel, flight experience, aerial photography and aerial mapping. At the same time, it will also develop a series of products for water, ice and snow, hydrogen power and other special purposes, which have broad application prospects and huge value space. In ancient times, Guan and Bao divided gold, and now we see partners walking together. Here, Guangwei Composites thanks Liaoning General Aviation Research Institute for its trust and affirmation. We will work hand in hand with our customers to jointly devote ourselves to the development of new energy electric aircraft, help my country's green aviation industry to flourish, and contribute to the strategy of "strengthening the country through civil aviation".
